What are 'Voicescapes'?
'Voicescape' was a term I chose when considering the concept of the borderscape; a framework that understands borders not as fixed lines but as lived, contested spaces shaped by power, movement, and exclusion. I dislike the use of the term 'voice' as a buzzword; I do not believe in raising or amplifying voices, nor giving voices. It is very easy to see the idea of voice as performative.

Magical Realism and Writing in the Postcolony: Voices in the Imaginative Margins of Rights
I am currently writing and editing my first academic book: Borderscapes in Law and Development, based on my PhD journey. This book like my PhD thesis is written as both an academic text but also with a magical realist novel at the centre. As I have been editing, I reflected back on an online conference I attended last year, at Oxford University on magical realism.
